Thanked: 0Unless I'm going to check a bag I usually travel with a DE. I take the blades out of the razor and stick a pack in my bag and see what happens, so far I've only had blades confiscated a couple dozen times. Just be on the safe side I always have a few Bic Metals with me. When I do check a bag I take a razor, a paddle strop, and my usual stuff, that's not very often though I've found I can live out of an Air Boss for quite a while.

I keep it minimal when I travel. I use the leather cases my TI's came in and take two stainless straights with me. I use shave cream in tubes and after shave in plastic bottles. I have a paddle strop with two sides I use. I fit everything in my suitcase no special kit or anything.

Thanked: 0This might seem a little silly, but what razors can you actually travel on a plane with? Personally, I despise checking luggage which should severely limit what shaving equipment I can take with me.
I'm certain you can't take a str8 on a plane. Anyone ever take a DE?

Thanked: 15As far as I understand US travel policy, you can travel with a straight razor if it's in your checked (and not carry-on) baggage. But I could be quite wrong
You can carry both the aforementioned items in checked luggage only.
People do put razor blades in their carry on and frequently they get passed security. I usually check one back on for trips that exceed 4 days and in that case I put all my items in the checked bag. I do carry a safety razor in my carry-on with no blades and it's not a problem.

I'm traveling to Texas on Thanksgiving day. I'm already planning ahead, since I am only taking one bag, and it will be carry on. Bic Metals, Kiss My Face shaving cream in a tube. Nothing else. I'm going to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I plan to have a good time, and don't want ANYTHING to spoil it. I'll be there for 6 days, and during this time, shaving will be on the back burner. I'll take what I can get. Having said that, I plan on taking advantage of some of the great places to buy shaving products in Dallas!
