Thanked: 2KCMO razor, hone manifesto
I got to chat with nun2sharp ( Kelly) on the phone yesterday for the first time. And I think the 2 of us solved about half of the Nation's problems in the 30 minutes we chatted
It's really refreshing to chat with folks of a like mind in this politically correct, media brainwashed society we are all currently trapped in.
I think Kelly already gave me an "inferiority complex" after telling me about all the great razors he already has . Oh well I guess you start a 1000 mile journey by taking the first step. But if my razor collection grows like my knife collection did then I'll probably end up renting storage space.
Actually I see myself collecting more sharpening equipment at first. Being I am already a knife sharpening fanatic this just really adds to a great hobby I already have.
It truly is a great thing when people can group together in a very constructive and educational way. Who knows maybe eventually we can start a club chapter here in KCMO.

Thanked: 2KC razor mafia
Don't talk too loud "hi_bud" They'll probably have the FBI checking up on us
Yes Sir we'll get folks to thinking right for sure. That is cool that there are that many knife/razor people all living here in KCMO. It's similar to the state of Arkansas> because there sure are a lot of knifemakers down there. Almost one in every town it seems like.
We'll definitely have to get together for some of KC's premium Bar BQ. Personally I like Gates & Sons, Rosedales, Bryants and Smokehouse for starters. That's why I can't move away from KC because I would go through Bar BQ withdrawals
It's also interesting that I've discovered that there were good razors made here in KC and St. Louis both. My idea of Thanksgiving would be to get a short end of ribs at Gates with extra sauce

Since this is where the Kanasas City folks sre congregating, I thought I would ask. I am planning a trip to Kansas City in the next few weeks for 4 days and need to know the top 10 BBQ joints. Any suggestions??? I will be renting a car, so I don't mind traveling a bit.
Oh ya, while I'm there I'm going to clean out all of the straight razors from the antique shops. I'm sure none of you have thought of that yet....... lol

Thread-jack
Going to piggy-back on Maskwa's concept of chatting with all the KC folk in one place. I'm constantly traveling for my job, though only in KS and MO. I'm south of Wichita right now and just getting into straight razors. Picked one up (prior to finding this site) at an antique shop and would like to get it honed. Any advice on finding a honemeister in the area? If I happen through KC, I wonder if any of ya'll may be able to meet up and hook me up at some point...?
Thx,
--Ryan
