Thread: Kamisori Razors

Anyone heard of these?

Not I. But this may or may not be cause for concern.

No I haven't heard of them either but two warning signs are that they are made of Japanese Steel but apparently not made in jJapan and the price seems too low for a quality item. I wonder if its just another pakastani razor scam like the Solingen razors which are made in pakistan.

"Kamisori" mean "razor," so these are Razor Razors.

The price is way to low to be a quality razor. It has all the ear marks of a poor razor.

I had the same feelings about them but had never seen any posts on them, so I figured I'd ask the experts, thanks for confirming it. Didn't know if these might be a diamond in the rough or just junk. Guess I'll pass on this particular bargain

Yes, Kamisori is “razor” in Japanese, but the term kamisori is generally used to refer to these classical designs… in short, yes this is most likely a scheme to sell Paki's

That site belongs to my friend, Hiromichi Kaneko in Japan. he sent me the Japanese razors in my Gallery Folder. He has quite a nice collection and is a friend of the elderly gentleman that made most of the razors shown.

I sent him a few USA made razors in return for his kindness in sending me the two beauitful Japanese razors.

we had a lengthy discussion about them a while back if you recall haha... I dont however recall if you ever offered a shave report or not? How is it, shaving with that one sided blade?
