Beware armpit shaving in Pakistan
One of the perquisites of my job as a library guy is that I stumble across gems like this in the medical literature. Puts a new spin on those Pakistani razors.
Excerpted from S Afr Med J. 2005 Feb;95(2): 94, 96. Barber shaving and blood-borne disease transmission in developing countries. Khaliq AA, Smego RA.
In Nagpur, India, Khandait and co-workers assessed.
knowledge of HIV transmission among 375 randomly selected
barbers and found that 81% were ignorant about modes of HIV
transmission, particularly transmission via razor blades.
Practices such as re-using the same blade, using fixed-blade
razors, and performing inadequate disinfection procedures
were common, especially among roadside barbers. A
community-based questionnaire study in the twin cities of
Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Pakistan, found daily face and armpit
shaving by a barber to be risk factors for HCV infection in male adults,
with attributable population risks of 29.4% and 33.6%, respectively

Who knew the sketchy Indian roadside shave could get any sketchier?

Damn! Whatever shall I do?
Roadside Pakistani Barbers have better deals on straights than eBay. Now I know why!! What am I going to do with all these Paki razors?!
I guess I'm gonna have to sell these pretty cheap, eh?
Of course, I'm just kidding. One thing I've learned out here is....STAY AWAY FROM THE PAKISTANI JUNK!
Just one more reason to heed this advice...

You might say the Pakistanis are terrorizing the straight razor market with their inferior products.
