I have several TI's and they are all very good shavers I would recommend them without hesitation. They do use the lead hardening process and they are a bit more difficult to hone but hold an edge much longer than the fire and ice processed razors.
As far as size goes I find the difference between a 5/8 and 6/8 to be moderate in nature, personally 6/8s is my favorite but once you make the leap to 7/8s your in a whole different territory there. Most 7/8 razors are real meat choppers. I think unless you have a real heavy beard I would go with the 6/8s. What you gain in weight and stability you loose in maneuverability IMHO.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

As for "silver steel" I guess I am in the same camp as Roy. I know the Brits use the ternm to imply drill rod or hardenable steel as opposed to other carbon steels. Kind of what we call high speed steel in tool terms.
For knives or razors it could mean something totally different of course.
Size matters. I can use a 5/8 but find the shave feels more natural with a 6/8. It is easier to maintain the correct angle and it just goes smoother. I also have a few 7/8 and 8/8 razors. They shave like going through butter BUT, they steer like a tractor trailer around the details. Getting close to nose and ears is much tougher and not as natural feeling.
Everyone needs to try a few sizes to really learn what works for you or not.
