Looks like bone, with the capillary pores showing at the ends. Bone is bone, whatever critter it came from, animal or human, just like all liver looks the same. Having scrubbed on lots of orthopedic surgeries, I just remembered a substance that we used to rub on freshly cut bone to prevent bleeding. It is of course called "Bone Wax" and is probably available from surgical supply houses. As I recall, it came in stick form and would last through many treatments of bone razor scales, making them waterproof and giving them a nice shine. Now that we have human bone razor scales, what will turn up next; a strop made from human skin? Ecchh!!

    Default Human Skin Razor Strops

Sorry to bring this up, but read about what happened to the American Indian Chief Tecumseh after he was killed. Strips of his skin were made into razor strops. Read more about this practice from books about the settling of the West. Bone is bone. Skin is skin.

I thought his fellow braves recovered his body and buried it in an unmarked grave?

Your razor with the human bone scales is really cool, by the way. I'm only seeing this thread now. Is it in good shape? It looks a little worn, but maybe that's just the picture.
