Forget a brush? you can always make lather with your hands.
Forget soap? There is always something available. I have used both Dove and Johnsons baby shampoo with good results.
Forget a strop? There is always a belt or a pants leg or even the palm of your hand.
Forget your straight? Can't do a straight shave without one!
I say you forgot your straight

Your laptop, to put an end to the suspense?

Seriously, if you're going to leave this hanging for two weeks, i'm going to have to stop coming back to this thread.

It was my straight... but in an amazing bit of good luck... the two eBay auctions I had been waiting two weeks for had not arrived because I had sent them accidentally to my old address. Here.

    The auctions were...

    1. 3 razors, two of which are in good condition, just need a honing (the third has minor chips)

    and

    2. A barber hone.

Ha. Talk about perfect... All this after I spent all afternoon dragging my poor mother around to antique shops looking for a barber hone and straight. And wound up getting a travel Gillette DE in a cute lil pouch for $10. And then spending almost $8 on ten DE blades (seemed really freaking expensive for me... I recall buying 20 packs of SE blades I used for spreading Heatpaste for like $3 back in the day). Im going to have to try the Gillette just to see how it shaves. It's a real cute little razor.

Anyhow. I got home, honed up one of the two decent razors and stropped it. This barber hone (unlabeled and sold only as a "Finishing grit barber hone" is pretty rough grit (I also bought a kids microscope for $5 at goodwill), the blade looks like a carpenters saw at 100x. But it passes HHT and TPT well "enough". It'll do till Friday when I go back home.

Spent the rest of the evening dremeling the rust off of a REALLY bad condition "extra hollow ground Sheffield" and then massaging it for about an hour with 220grit wet/dry while I watched cartoons. Got it nice and shiny. I'm going to pick up some brass rods, washers, etc and reattach the scales tomorrow and then bring her to an edge when I get home.

Damn that dremel was a godsend for getting rid of that rust. Took me about 5 grit bands, but It melted off (getting the scuffs from the dremel off took way longer than dremeling the rust off). The razor actually wasn't bad at all underneith. Rust was shallow, very minimal pitting, and razors looking damn good other than a really messed up smile (tow smiles, heel to center is flat as a griddle) that will take a while to hone out.
