A New and Past Year Strategy
So it's almost 2010. So what new shaving toys did you acquire this year and what do you plan on getting in 2010?
I'll start.
I got new georgetown scuttle and a Chandler razor. That's about it for this year.
Next year? I want a DD Napoleon. Har Har.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I got a ton of stuff this last year. The only major purchase I expect for the New Year will be another Williams custom.

I got too much stuff to count this year. Next year I expect to get only one more razor, yet to be determined. Yea, right That's what I said last year!

Not a lot of acquisitions this year... just a TI Le Canadian (5/8 with imitation tortoise) for fathers' day.
2010 is going to see...
... simpson chubby #1 in best badger
... old school aftershaves and hair tonics (pashana, jeris, osage rub)
... a dovo shavette for poops and grins
... a couple of boar brushes
as for razors, I'm going to dance with the ones that brung me."But you're not as confused as him are you. I mean, it's not your job to be as confused as Nigel. "

Thanked: 143Good morning SRP people. My mission for 2010, and I do choose to accept it, is to stop loading up on equipment and learn to use what I already have. (Sorry vendors!) As always, should I get a bad shave or nick myself, I will disavow any knowledge of advice received here and blame the quality of the tools!
This post will self-destruct in five seconds.

I don't recall buying anything in 2009. I will probably skip 2010 as well. I've been using one razor, almost exclusively for the last year.
I do need some Taylors almond cream though. Through 2009 I just used whatever soap/cream was left from by SCAD days back in 2003. Its finally time I finished all that stuff off.

My New Years resolution is to sell off half of my herd of razors, and not to buy any more. The reality will probably be some kind of compromise, but with more razors going out than coming in. If I could have just one razor for the whole year of 2010, it would be an 8/8 Greaves Sheaf works wedge, with no pitting and perfect silver pinned bone scales..........is there such a thing?
