I am sad to find out that your time with us is at an end. We have never in person but somehow I feel a kindred spirit in you. You will be missed. The only consolation for me is knowing that we all will have to go when our time comes.

Peace and strength to you Ray and to your loved ones.

Default A Message From Ray at ClassicShaving.com

    Ray,

I am saddened to learn of your illness. We have had some dealings together at classicshaving.com and I will continue to deal with them in the future. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. To quote a line of a old Irish toast, "May the arms of the Creator enfold you before the devil knows you are gone." Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Ray - hope you get to read this -
Just got through going through something similar with my mother in a hospice center.
After what I witnessed especially with the other folks there, I have gone BACK to being a very religious person. I shall light a candle for you in [my] church this Sunday and one for your family. There will be lights burning for you and your family here at Saint John Neumann's in Reston, Virginia this Sunday. We catholics have a crazy little saying/greeting: Peace be with you. I hope you find this appropriate.

I would like, and probably a lot of the fine folks who posted replies to this, to be kept up-to-date if the moderators would be so kind.

    Red face

Gee, I didn't expect this would be such a sad thread when I saw the ambiguous title. I'm really sorry to hear of your illness, Ray. Your work at ClassicShaving.com has been really great. I've been gearing up to order some stuff from you, actually, so the site will have my business, regardless.

    I hope you feel well.

Ray, I was extremely saddned to hear this news. Although I have never had any direct dealings with you, being a newbie in the UK, I have only heard about your great reputation from the high esteem the others hold you in here. For this and the many other accomplishments in your life you should be truly proud.

    Namasté,

    Dan.

    Ray,

Thank you for making my introduction to the world of classic shaving a great one. Your attitude has always been one of a well informed friend and secondly as a merchant. If only the rest of the world could take a lesson from you. =]

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Ray, I just read this messaage this morning. Let me just say that you have always been a shining example of civility on this board and on the old yahoo board. I have always admired your cool and thoughtful responses to posts that would have provoked nothing but flame from others. You've been the truest illustration of how a "Gentleman" should behave.

You will be greatly missed here, and I regret not getting to know you better.

    Thanks again for everything.

Ray, it had been a while since I'd been over to SRP, and reading this news just stunned me. I thought about all the times I'd talked to you on the phone, and gotten your patient answers and advice. I'll remember you every time I pick up that Dovo that you sold me, the best razor I've ever had. I'll think about you every time I strop or hone, knowing your instructions showed me the way. Most of all, I'll think about you every time I finish a perfect shave, knowing you had a big part in making it happen. Godspeed, my friend.

    Smokey
