I would start with a set of strops from Tony, the paddle strop should be pre-pasted. You will need both a paddle strop and a hanging strop. Purchase a 4 sided paddle strop and have each side with a different paste. This will be useful to you for as long as you are shaving and will significantly delay the time when you need a hone. It will also probably be necessary to bring your Fromm to shaving sharpness. Tony can answer you with what that will take. If Tilly is selling a starter set for $30 that a great price and I would buy that and put it away til later.
Just be sure and mark them as coarse-med-fine-finishing. Its real easy to forget which is which (just ask me how I know this).

Always feel free to ask any questions here. We are more than glad to help.

I've already lined up to get a pasted strop paddle from Tony. What a guy! Hell, everyone here has been most helpful and friendly. I'm going to go ahead and pick up the hones as well, and do what you suggested, put them away. Down the road, once I've gotten stropping down, I'll pick up a couple ebay baby's and start the new learning curve on honing.

Once that's mastered (is it ever?), I guess I'll move into restoring. New hobbies (if you can call this that, hobby out of necessity). I feel like a bass that just got hooked, and am slowly being reeled in! At least with this one I'll have something to show for it besides a pile of ashes.

Thanks again Tony, and everyone else that's help to point me in the right directions. Also, I don't know if he's on this board or not, but Brian Donofrio's videos have also been very helpful.

Just be careful about the "e-bay babes". What you think is a great 6$ mint condition Kamisori or Rockwell Solingen find, turns out to be crappy Pakistan steel... Stay away from e-bay for a while until you learn what to look in a razor.
