I don't think that his technique is the focal point of the video, nor was it intended to be. You want to see a great shaving video with good technique, no cuts, AND booze and tobacco? Check out the one that johnnytastetest did. Awesome. I am just taking the side of the argument that what we are daily partaking in is by far NOT the natural experience of normal men (and women) and that the run of the mill person seeing this might be negatively influenced. It's bad enough trying to either:
A. Convince people that shaving with a straight is not so bad
or
B. Try to convince them to take up wet shaving
without some jackass posting crap like this.
And having it be defended.

gosh, that video was scary, I wouldn't even shave with my cartridge razor while drunk, let alone a straight razor. I thought that guy was going to Sweeney Todd himself.

Thanked: 431This one does make me kinda cringe everytime that I watch it.
This guy is a member of the forum here, but seems to be MIA for the past year +.
His name is Willi, from Switzerland, and he seems to be a very descent fella, someone posted the video and it made somewhat of a stir with it generating criticisms and comments, here's a link to the thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/video...ing-video.html , you find Willi enter the fray I think on about page 5 post #46.
Actually seems pretty darned good. Check out that hillbilly strop. What did he give that thing, about 7 passes? And that is a pretty impressive job of lathering, using steamed soap and a knot-only looking brush, notice he says 'heiss' (pronounced - hice) meaning hot or hell-hot or so I've heard. I think that he had about 10 years experience under his belt, notice how he points out switching to use the other hand. Heck I (and maybe many of you all also) spend 45 minutes or more in there with our hi-grade and sometimes slightly expensive creams soaps and such pampering ourselves. I likes ol' Willi. Maybe he was too much of a gentleman for the forum.
