    Default Little Black Spots

Anybody else get little black spots on their face occasionally? Anyone know the cause? It almost looks like a deep skin cut but I'm not sure. Or perhaps a staining of the skin?

Mr. Davis, I'm in medicine and it seems that the black spots are the result of broken blood vessels, however minute they may be. Black spots such as yours are called contusions - trapped blood under the skin.

What is the frequency of the spots? Take some time from shaving and see if the frequency stops or lessens.

Either way, it won't hurt to see a dermatologist.

Are you a smoker? Smoking decreases oxygen to the skin which can exascerbate your problem.

No, not a smoker. Take time off from shaving? You serious? They don't really have a frequency. Its just from the shave itself, maybe a bad angle or something so they are infrequent or to be more precise they is no pattern to their frequency.

Now thats a new one. I've never seen black spots on the skin only on the razor. A little simichrome removes them quickly. maybe your skin is getting rust spots (just kidding).

Actually sounds like some kind of irritation. Try changing razors for a couple days or skip shaving for a day or two.

If I can hijack this thread a moment, what is with those black specks and spots that are showing up on a couple of my straight razor blades?

I want them gone - what's the best way?

    Yes, Sir you may,

I"m not sure, but I believe they are water stains and that they are polished out with a product called MAAS.

I just had some stains(can't call them spots) show up after I used my styptic pencil. A little Maas took them off. I hadn't had any before now and today was the first time I used the pencil so I'm figuring this was cause and effect?

Ok, so your either using the styptic on your razor or the Mass on your face?
Maybe I'm miss-reading, but just in case... the styptic is for the face and the MASS is for the razor

Nah, Just being fumble fingered. Touched the styptic pencil with wet fingers and then handled the razor. And VERY shortly afterward had black stains on the blade. So I conclude that MAYBE the styptic pencil was the source of the staining agent.

I guess It's possible, I havent noticed any staining that I could relate to styptic.. Glad to hear your putting the MASS in your face however
