Thanked: 96Never thought I would see the word leverage used in a razor discussion. It brings one word to my mind, blood.

Hmm, perhaps a slightly poor choice of words on my part. Rather, a longer handle allows you to reach areas without having the additional difficulties of having to strain just to reach.
ShavedZombie - I've been keeping an eye on the PCR's that're coming out lately! I plan to get one once I get back to the States in a bit over a month.

Thanked: 530A ridiculous name, but a good idea... Ladies deserve a good shave too.
I still can't convince Olivia to let go of her disposable... She's agreed to let me don a 4x4 patch of her calf with a straight, but that's it... I figure if that goes well, I can at least coerce her to adopt a brush and a DE.. She always complains about irritation from the Disposable, but is reticent to try anything different... I figure just a Merkur (Mekur? SP?) and Derby blades would make such a big difference...
Oh well...

Thanked: 137I have an EJ89 and really like it, although the handle is definitely tricky to hold onto when wet, and a little short. The Merkur 1904 is going to be my next purchase, which has a textured grip to help me out. Admittedly, I'm a guy, so may not be the best person to seek advice on leg shaving from (although I shave em about once a year, when my shin splints kick in and need to be taped up - far easier than ripping out hair when removing the tape).
I think the Merkur range have the best selection in terms of handle length, so if you're wanting to get a DE leg shaver for a women I'd recommend checking them out. Also, as with guys' shaving, pick up a blade sampler (Connaught Shaving do an excellent one with something like 20 different brands) as different blades suit different people - I, for instance, can't use Derby blades at all, despite their good reputation on here, and your lady may be similar - a range of blades gives her the chance to find the one that works best for her.
