Thanked: 0To the Gentlemen of The SRP,
Thank you!
Thanks to David and Lynn, who helped me through my botched registration. Thanks to ALL the members of The SRP who share their knowledge and experience in this public forum.
On January 1, 2006 I shaved with a straight razor for the first time! W W, a most pleasurable experience. Said act was carried out using both a Dubl-Duck Satinedge and a Dwarf. First pass took down my 1/4 inch beard. Second pass produced a nick. Third pass brought a very big smile from me and a sigh of relief from my wife. I have to admit, the first three shaves, I finished off my chin with my trusty double edge.
Thanks again to all for the information, knowledge and experience that you all share so freely here at The SRP,
ROY

Roy,
Welcome aboard. Let us know if your wife is still happy after she finds you buying razors and brushes hones and creams by the boat load. It is both pleasurable and addictive at the same time...

Welcome, Roy!
Like Prof said, you're hooked! Rich is right, too!
You'd better start squirreling away now for all the goodies Rich mentioned. It's a never-ending insanity....LOL
Enjoy.

Welcome
Well, if you're starting out with Dubl Duck's you're livin' large already.
Watch the pressure and the angles and you'll minimise your nicks and maximise your shaving pleasure. Good to hear you're satisfied aready. Way to go!

Thanked: 0Thank you all for the warm welcome.
My wife has already had a thing or two to say about my new obsession and it's rapid growth. I however, don't see a problem. Oh well, some people will never understand that sometimes a mans gotta do, what a mans gotta do. So what if you wind up spending a little money along the way. Right? Right?!!?
At any rate, it's great to be shaving straight !!!

Roy,
Welcome to the group. You will find a bunch of swell guys here that will help you in all ways you can't imagine. This is really a good group. I started out with one razor and now I own 69 razors. I have honed and shaved with a lot of them. This is a fun and addicting obsession/sport/hobby.
