First Shave Report
Greeting everyone
My first attempt at a shave went quite well.
I did one pass with the grain and there
were no cuts. I washed my face in hot
water and relathered and did a somewhat
across the grain grain. Again no cuts Though
not the closest shave in my life I did not expect
it to be. I know that closeness will come with
time and experience. I am willing to invest that
time. I am hooked.
The total razor in hand was about 15 or so
minutes.
I finished it off by slapping on a little Pinaud Vegetal
Lilac. Do any of you guys use this stuff? Or am I just
weird.
I would like to thank Lynn for the shave ready razor.
And yes Lynn, I watched out for that point. I couldn't
resist doing a complete shave though.
I would like to thank everyone else for being a
part of this forum. There is so much info and experience
here. A beginner can learn so much by just reading
the old threads.
Well off to the Post Office, to see if the strop that
I ordered from Tony is there. Hope it is, I WANT to do
this again in the morning.
Regards,
Terry

Congrats
Despite the advantage of having a razor honed by the Master himself that is quite a personal accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself. And a testament, I think, to doing some research.

Thanked: 1Congratulations. I wish my first shave had gone that good. But then again you did start with a superior product (a razor from Lynn). No cuts to boot, you did well. Welcome to the obssession.

The Post Office didn't deliver my strop. Oh well, I will
have to wait a few days until my next attempt. Hope
it goes as well as the first.
Now to start dreaming about a second razor, now lets
see.......
I will keep you posted and thanks for your replies.

Thanked: 4"Now to start dreaming about a second razor, now lets
see.......". A good first shave, and he's already afflicted by RAD. (Be warned: razors are gregarious beasties.) Good going, Terry. BTW, the Pinaud Vegetal is the only AS to date that I've truly loathed.

Hrm... I had picked up a bottle of the Pinaud before I read this post. Ironic, eh? But, I was in the process of spending a fortune on bedding at bed, bath, and beyond, so what the heck is another few bucks...
