    Default Cleaning the razor after

As a background information, I usually rinse the lather off the blade during the shave and thus some soap scum residue is left on the blade that won't rinse out that easily.

To solve this, at the end of the shave I've been taking my brush (still in lather) and just swiping the blade couple times from the back to the edge on both sides (taking care not to let the edge cut the bristles). It seems to me that the fresh lather helps to rid the blade of the scum as it usually rinses clean after that.

This is pretty moot as I still clean the blade with a cloth, but still I'd like to know if anyone else uses this peculiar practice. =)

I guess this comes in the what works for you department. Personally, I wouldn't do it because no matter how carefull you are the brush has alot of loose floppy hairs that can move in different directions. I use a soft cloth and find that does the job just fine.

Of course you may have something there and can market a custom made blade cleaner brush and charge a bundle for it and be the next Mr Gillette.

With replaceable badger hairs. Soft cloth with care does the job for me as well.
