PaulDog is that you? Hell yeah we'd be interested. To be fair, however, a lot of us are members of both SRP and SMF. Not sure how the final numbers would stack up.

The "Master" Plan
Master Lynn, can your residence accommodate a few dozen people? How big is your yard? We could camp out there! We'll supply the food and booze. You supply the training. Whattaya think?
But seriously, I would definitely go to a convention, no matter where it's held.

Thanked: 0Nah, im not PaulDog, just paul siegel, a humble college student from seattle by way of atlanta. i realize there is a lot of cross regestration in all the forums. gentlemanwhat we need is to spread the good word! i think a convention is going to come from a grass roots as their is no hierarchy as such.

Thanked: 17Shave Convention Idea
Well, this has been bandied about for a few years ....
I am also a member of several cancer sites (unfotunately). We also talked of getting together a lot, and there was also a time factor to that, due to disease status of many members.
We finally had our meeting(s) - here's what worked:
We decided that travel was the biggest obstacle for most, either physically, or financially. To alleviate that, we collectively picked several sites around the country for members to go to, and held the ALL get-togethers on the same day! People were assigned to take pics at each event, and then they were all posted at a site online for everyone to view. The memories were priceless, as several members have passed. We were glad we did it, and some of the groups and relationships have grown into regular meetings today.
We MAY be able to do that here - select certain geographical locations that would about cover the country with four or five or six sites; have folks volunteer to coordinate the event in their local areas, and eventually get a "Go!" date! Maybe even some common agenda items.
Might actually work that way, if the travel issue is addressed in that manner.
I would volunteer to assist in planning a New England meeting.
Any comments? Thoughts?
