    Default Introduction

    Hi everyone,

I signed up a few days ago and thought I should properly introduce myself.

My shaving background has been disposal blades since I started shaving, and one year or so of electric (2004-2005), which led to a break out of acne that I had not seen since teenage. (At least it made me fell younger.. ). I then switched back to disposables, but the trauma of pimpled face (at 30yo damn it ! ) made me paranoid about how clean was anything that I would scrape my skin with.

I have switched to Straights a few weeks ago (could be a month now) and could not be happier. I now get a great shave every time and I really appreciate the new morning rituals. Everything started with thread on Wet Shaving on a Fountain Pen forum that I created a bit more than a year ago (fountainpennetwork.com). I had an epiphany : What could be more sanitary that a straight razor's blade ! Since then I have bought a pure badger brush from Em's Place, three hones form Tilly, a 3/8 straight from Classic Shaving and I have traded a pen set for a Hen and Rooster 5/8 from Ed, a.k.a ForestryProf. I use L'Occitane shaving soap and love it. I know not everyone likes it, but it works very well for me, and it's French, so it has to be perfect. (Guess where I am originally from... )

That's pretty much my story and I'll stick to it

    Denis.

    Denis,

From one newbie to another welcome. I bet the Hen & Rooster razor
is really cool. I've been thinking I would like to own one.

    Regards,

    Terry

    Default Welcome

    Hey Denis,
Glad you're enjoying the Hen and Rooster. The pen set arrived Thursday and I'm really taken with the pen; it may very well become my primary writing instrument...very smooth. I've also ordered some eversharp pencil leads from Pendemonium, looking forward to their arrival so that I've a fully functional set. Best trade I've ever made, thanks.
This is a great site for information, most of us tend to be pretty verbose so if you've a question I guarantee you will get more than your fill of responses.
    Cheers,
    Ed

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Ed, I'm glad you like the pen. These Eversharp nibs are known to perform flawlessly.
