    Default Vintage Promotional "custom" razors

Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology, but I'm wondering how common these are.

I've got a razor that has "Made expressly for A. Stucki" etched on the blade. It's marked L. West - warranted, with a slightly curved edge, and a notched point.

I tend to think that it was the result of some type of -Design your ideal razor- option, where the customer picked out the features he wanted and the razor was assembled and etched with his name.

I've seen another razor with an individuals name for sale on ebay recently and that got me wondering whether this was a widespread practice or not?

    Anybody with any insight/opinions?

Hi Don, You don't see a lot of razors with a persons name on them. I have seen them stamped on the handle before and etched. Is this one German made? Can you send a picture. Lynn

    Thanks for the reply Lynn.
There isn't much to add to the description. There is no place of manufacture on the razor at all, just "L. West warranted" on the tang, and that seems to be etched rather than stamped like most other razors. Just run-of-the-mill black celluloid scales, an "almost" singing blade(rings slightly when tweaked) that takes a nice edge, and a line of small print "Made expressly for" with the name A. Stucki underneath. It came in an unmarked blue razor box.
If I ever get the chance to get over to Medina, I'll just bring the dang thing as I don't think my digital camera is up to a good enough close up pic.

If that ever happens and I can't solve the problem, I'll send it to Lynn with a check to hone it. When the check clears through, I'll have his REAL signature!
