Getting blood out of a strop
alternate thread titles:
"is blood good for conditioning a strop?"
"I like Hello Kitty band-aids"
"Don't laugh, it hurts"
Yup. Just finished some stone work on an eBay find. Took a while to get the nick out. But I worked at it with a 250, 1000, 4000, 8000 and then finished with lots of linen and stropping.
But in one quick, clumsy move, I nicked my thumb at the joint while opening the razor to strop. Took a small circle of skin clean off. I know because the circle of skin was sitting there in the palm of my hand.
Pops arm hair nicely. Apparently, scaple sharp LOL. This is the most successful hone yet for this newb.
Now I just have to able to do it without self injury.

Ouch!
Hello Kitty band-aids, eh? I take it you are a dad. (As I am, but it's been a long while since they were little.)
Well, it will heal, and in the meantime you know how to hone. Just find a better way to test the edge and you'll be all set.

Blood spatter on a strop is the sign of a real man.
No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
