    Default South Carolina Info Request

Next Saturday, I have to go to Charleston, SC, for a two-week school. I'll have plenty of down time, and a free weekend, and I would like to look around this historic town for some razors or other shaving accessories. It's not often I get to go 800 miles from home, and I was just wondering whether anyone on these boards might have some suggestions as to where to look for items of this type.

I've been nosing around the local antique shopsn here in NY. Just do a yellow-page search for antique shops or consignment shops.

Thanks. I was looking for any specific places by people who might've been there, live there, or live close, but yours is probably the more sensible suggestion.

    Joe,

I was stationed there a couple times. It's been years, so I can't give you any information about finding razors, but I highly recommend you go to Wild Wing Cafe downtown (on Market St.). Assuming it's still there, best wings I ever had. And if you really want to experience the "historic town" part, I recommend a trip to Charlestown Landing. That's the original settlement of Charleston. Or you can visit a plantation. There are several.
Now that I think about it, Market St. is just that. There's a market area there, like a Flea Market, that was open on weekends, but I don't know if they're open in the winter.
    Have fun.

Go by a few local gun stores and see if there are any fliers posted about any gun shows or knife shows in the local area. Many times there will be folks selling razors at these shows.
