Thanked: 281 st shave
NEVER hold the razor with two hands...tooheavy a stroke...more important always use the other hand to stretch the skin for a smooth bloodless shave!

Everyone does have their own methods of shaving, but considering that you "stretch the skin by grimacing," I don't see any point in putting two hands on the blade when one would do just as good a job.

That Other Hand Is For Stretching
That stretching by grimacing heps, but you should help it by using your off hand to stretch wherever possible. The only tim I use two hands on the blade is for the final against on the upper lip, and that is for safety reasons. If I had a third hand, I'd use it to stretch with.

Hi All -- Just completed my 3rd Shave (I stropped on the Smooth side about 30x after each shave and applied mineral oil to the blade with a cotton ball before closing).
On Sun (I let the hair grow a day). I cut alot off -- but still was not cluse on the neck and cheeks. Only one little knick.
This morning -- after the warm towel skin prep. I went all out. Used a shaving cream that Classic shaving included with my shaving cup (a had soap disk--lemon and coconut-- Someone hear mentioned that flavor to me--I think RichZ). I did 1 pass with the grain...and then on the neck..a few passes to get it EXTRA Close. I still notice a fe "Misses" as I run my hands accross. The cheeks and face are hard for me as well.
The post above gave me an idea for tomorrow -- STRETCHING -- Will do that more than i normally do--should give me better results. As for the two handed approach -- I did attempt that -- seems like it would work with a steady hand.
My neck was a little Raw this am after my shave...and I did the Mr peanut dance when I applied the aftershave balm.....but I have to admit -- walking to work in the 20-30 degree NY weather -- and my neck exposed--it felt like a million bucks! Too bad it is warm in my office.
