Looks like a great time so far!
Any chance we could get names/ usernames as captions? I'd love to be able to put names with faces.

Hey!! Why didn't someone tell me I was bald???
Had a great time (as always)...JoeD and CarrieM are wonderful hosts (as always)...and their generosity knows no bounds. Thanks (as always) again for being great colleagues down this slippery slope of acquisition disorders. I always leave knowing more about straight razors than I when I arrived.

A finer bunch you'll never meet
I spent a few hours and Joe and Karens' place yesterday and it was just terrific -- just a relaxed good time; razors, hones, strops, Joe's home- roasted coffee, and a bunch of razor nuts from all walks of life. I can't say enough about the simple hospitality and the warm atmosphere.
Another thing -- if you ever get a chance to sample Karen's cooking -- say "Yes, I'll have a bunch, thank you". Yesterday it was a cast-iron pot of pork and beans.......just freaking incredible.
Took some pictures, I'll try to put names with faces ---
Here's Batmang (Nathan) with Rookie1 (Ed). Batmang is the one with the really shiny head
Nathan polishing a razor... he traveled like 90 miles to do that
Rookie1 (Ed, in green shirt) beginning Honing 101 with Holli4Pirating (Dylan). Dylan's course, by the way, should be a prerequisite for all aspiring hone-dogs
Meanwhile, JoeD (Joe D) (Standing) is giving an advanced honing course at the other end of the table to Nathan and heirkb (Ehsan). Note that heirkb is privileged to possess not only facial hair but a full head of his own hair
Looks like success! Joe is an enthusiastic teacher
Progress being made at the other end of the table, Ed working the Naniwas with Dylan coaching. I think Ed fell in love with honing.
Not to be outdone in the honing or the hair department -- Quicknicker (also Ed) Check out the blade he's working on ---
Once again -- Thanks to Joe and Karen and Joe Jr. --- it's a pleasure to visit their home and I always feel welcome. Great hosts. Great dogs. Great food. I wish I could have stayed all day. Frank
One more thing -- everyone should see Joe's razor collection once. My God, you should just see the box of NOS C-Mons. Holy crap.Last edited by stimpy52; 05-17-2010 at 01:43 AM.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

This looks like it was a great time! I know from the gracious natures, gentle wisdom, and razor knowledge I've seen from Joe and Karen (and mention of great things like 'coffee' and such in the chat) that if it is ever in my means a visit to an NY meet is in order.

Great pics! A huge thanks to JoeD, CarrieM, and JrJoeD for hosting and the amazing hospitality. Thanks to everyone who came and made the meet as what it was. It's always a pleasure to attend.
PS Where's HeirKB honing and eating pizza at the same time? That shot is priceless!

Thank you so much to Joe and Karen for having me and for your generosity.
It was great to meet you all, to eat, to chat, and to learn.
