    Default TI replacement scales

If I was to buy TI replacement scales, is there anybody who can swap mine out?

    Thanks

Why not try it yourself? All you'd need is a ball peen hammer and an anvil (or another hammer in a pinch). Assuming the razor is loose already... Otherwise flush cutters or a metal file will be needed to remove the old scales.

If the scales don't have the pivot hole drilled, you'll need a drill press (or regular drill and a steady hand) and a 1/16" bit. I'm pretty sure the scales come with the pins and washers so you should be set to go.

If you're really in a bind, let us know where you are and maybe someone's nearby who can lend a hand.

    Man,
I would be afraid to try that as its a fairly new razor, I just couldnt afford the fancy scales at the time. Located in N. Virginia area.

It's so easy it's a joke...really. All you have to do is remove the old pin using my tutorial here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...tml#post498196

After you have them removed, just thread the new pin through, cut it flush with the washer, and then tap it two or three times lightly.

done...There really isn't any guesswork involved. Check out the Dovo video on youtube and you can watch them pin a razor using the pins that will come with your new scales. If you aren't competent with a drill (ie. me) then go to your nearest machine shop and have them do it for you...I've never been charged to drill a hole.

The only bummer with the ti replacement scales is that they don't include washers for the pins, I mean wide washers for the inside, only the washers for the outside. I don't know if that matters to you.

I suggest you watch the straight razor restore start to finish video it shows both the dremel and drill press methods and helped me big time.

I empathize. I do not have a drill press, and don't want to make a pricey mistake drilling holes freehand.
