Whats with the flowers?
I have been looking at shaving scuttles, trying to find the one that suits me best. But alas, i am finding most of them with flowers on them or made to appeal to the lady of the house. If they dont have flowers on them then they have scalloped ridges or little lambs on them. Where are the ones made to look like a socket or a cresent wrench. I want one that comes with a cigar holder for when i am shaving under my nose. WHAT GIVES?????

Back when these things were truly popular it was the lady of the house that did the shopping, the world was his but the house was hers. You may be better off looking for the "occupation'' type.

Back in the day the flower motif was universally popular. Everything from wallpaper to shaving mugs.

Try Dirty Bird Pottery:

I fell in love with her 1.5 size scuttle. Work of art. No flowers. Worth every penny. Keeps my über lather warm for three passes with my straight and a fourth "cleanup" pass with my cartridge razor (am still a newbie).
