    Default $19 eBay DublDuck experience

I have poured my share of $$$ down the eBay rathole. Caveat emptor. But, I did manage to snag a DubDuck "dwarf" for $19 that turned out better than expected. I had a good feeling when I pulled it out of the envelope and it popped hairs right away - it wasn't even listed as shave-ready. A little Maas, few swipes on the paddle and I was in heaven. It's not as pretty as other shavers - very plain - but I hit the zone when shaving with this one.

Thanks for letting me share. No one else gives a rat.

(Now I'll wait for some one to tell me I paid too much.)

I have a DublDuck Dwarf that belonged to my great grandfather. It isn't pretty, as it wasn't stored properly over the past 30-odd years. Polished by me, honed by Lynn. Sharing is what it's all about. Somewhere, someone, might just give a rat. I don't think $19 is too much for a good razor, especially a name brand.

I have just about all the DDs but the dwarf is one I don't have. Any DD is a great shaver. Just take good care of it and like they say it will take good care of you.

And you didn't pay too much for it.

    Bach,

    Congratulations on your Dubl Duck.
Sounds too me like you got a deal.

As far as pretty goes... pretty doesn't
    shave... the blade does.

Yep, I have to agree with Terry. The shave is what counts.

I recently got an older tortise scaled Dovo ($12) and after a slight cleaning I could see that it would need more work than I was qualified to do (at this time). So I figured stop trying to make it look nice, and just give it a sharp edge.
The honing and edge restoration went well, and it is now on my A-list of shave ready razors.
