Curious about "Frameback" Razors
Anybody use a ''frameback'' razor? I like the way they look, and I'm sure they work the same as any other razor , but I was curious about other people's experiences with them. I'm thinking of buying one.

I've seen them but haven't used them but from what I can tell they are just another style and are no different as far as use or maintainance than any other straight. Classic shaving has a nice TI Frameback.

Thanked: 4942Joe,
Old Framebacks or New? I have several of both. I really enjoy shaving with the old ones. The blade is really thin and holds a super edge. I have a couple of Swedish and one Wostenholm. The newer ones are also nice shavers and are called Framebacks but are a one piece blade. In the old ones the blade is inserted into the frame. Some had interchangable blades.

Here is a picture of an old WB frameback with the separate blade.

Ok...that's kinda what I was wanting to know. How they shaved, and how they were constructed. Both questions were answered.

I'm not a big fan of the frameback look. Too gruff looking for me. Since it's all in the shave, if I were without anything else and somebody offered me a W&B frameback as my only shaver, I'm sure I could make do.
