Part of the reason why I switched to straight shaving was because I had heard that my skin would be less irritated by it. Looking back now, I'd say that it wasn't the razor that screwed me up, it was technique. I learned how to wet-shave and not use aerosol creams. I learned about the importance of a sharp blade (I used to only change my Mach 3 blade about once every 15 shaves). I learned to go with the grain and not against the grain with the first pass, I'd never shaved with the grain before wet-shaving.
In conclusion, I'd still be just like that guy you saw at the gym had it not been for razor burn and my sensitive skin. It is funny to look back now on how things used to be. I almost never shaved between thursday afternoon and monday morning, now I rarely miss a day!

Talk about exfoliation! That dude must have removed 5 layers of skin. I'm sure he felt a burning sensation for at least 12 hours or so. I used to use one of those contraptions and a shave like his would force me to take a week off from shaving. Alan, you should have showed him the proper way a gentleman shaves!

I've used a mach3 almost all of my shaving life and have never heard of anyone doing there face with that many strokes. He must've been bleeding all over the place!!! (at least I do when I do that.
