I'm not a barber but I used an Andis clipper to trim my full beard back when I grew one.
This may be stating the obvious, but are you oiling the cutters? If I didn't periodically apply a drop or two of machine oil to my cutters, it would pull and tug while trimming my beard.
Namaste,

Could be several different things.
1. make sure you have oil on your clippers
2. if you aren't holding the clippers flat against the head of the person your cutting they can tug and pull on their hair.
3. they might be out of adjustment turn the screw on the side of the clippers until they buzz then back off until they stop (sorry cant remember what direction).
4. if the clippers are old the blades might need a sharpening or to be replaced.
Andis really makes the finest adjustable clippers on the market IMO but there is a little bit of technique that is required to make them work as effectively as possible as well as making it comfortable for the person you are cutting. Remember those things can really hurt if your cutting angle is off.
Hope this helps.

Thanked: 199I really don't know about those clippers. Never seen anyone that had them. If you want to do a fade, I would invest the extra money and (provided you want to go with Andis) pick up the Excel 2 speed clippers. Then purchase the blades for them.
I do fades with a Wahl Senior clipper with the plastic chucks and I've never had a problem, but once I get some more money, I will pick up the Excel 2 and blades. The Oster 76er clippers use the same blades, in case you ever want to pick those up too, but they're too noisy IMO, and no better than the Excel 2

You can use detachables to do a fade but its very hard and time consuming do a bald fade with only detachables you need adjustables to finish the blending.
I have both the excel single speed and the Oster titan 2 speed clippers and the difference is very noticeable. the Osters are much more powerful and cut much faster than the excels but as you mentioned the are a bit louder, however as long as you keep them properly oiled they aren't bad imo.
I haven't yet tried the excel 2 speed clippers but its hard to deny Oster's reputation for quality and that is why I chose the Titans.
