Uh oh - no DMT 325 for lapping those hones? Tsk Tsk! I think you need to go back to SWMBO an ask for more. I am sure by this time she will be very understanding
I am using a Piece of 3M 800 grit wet/dry for now on a known good flat surface till I can squeeze a little more money together for a proper lapping plate.

Last night some friends came over and we went out to eat. We get along really good with this couple and it was a great time. They have a 4 year old girl and our 19 month old daughter and her had a blast together.
It was one of the best days I've had in a long time. I definitely Feel blessed to have a great wife and a wonderful daughter.

    Mmmmmm Nice rifle Lynn....

Let's see Father's Day !!! Do "Fur" kids count

I spent a great day in the high country, the wife and I went to a little country store for Breakfast, and to gas up the Quads, (haven't you heard that all the best places for Breakfast have gas pumps out front LOL) then we headed out for about 4 hours of beautiful sunny 65 degree mountain weather...
After a fantastic day riding, I met up with a fellow SRP'r (Jakeinkalispell) and his wife and had a nice visit over Ice tea and Hones ... A rather rare occurrence up here in the bonnies....

Overall a great day, hope all you Father's had a good one too

    Glen,

Of course 4-legged kids count. The wonderful people who dote on their furry kids put a roof over my head, food on my table, and the occasional straight razor in my shave den. Check my profile & you'll see why

Congratulations everyone for their gifts and nice families.

In this part of the world we have few months to wait as in Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden we are having a fathers day always on the second sunday of November.

    Default My gifts

I comissioned a former co-worker to make the scuttle for me. Unfortunately it came early, and I just had to try it out. The pajama pants backdrop was my surprise, although my daughter almost "spilled the beans" on Saturday.

    Default Father's Day

Received a copy of Alan Furst's new book, Spies of the Balklans, Some .223 ammo and a card from daughter and grandaughter. Had a wonderful day with my family. Also received a check from daughter and an order for Caraceni shaving cream will go out today.

Lynn: Congratulations on the Savage 30/06. Savage Stevens guns never get the praise they should. I have a Stevens Model 87A .22 auto rifle that my father bought new in 1950. Tons of lead has gone down that barrel and it is still accurate and reliable.

There ain't many things you can't fix
    with $500.00 and a 30/06.

Likely the rifle will be far less expensive than the optics

"Tis a bootiful Savage Arms 30-06 with Accu-Trigger. And, lots of time to zero in the scope."

The Savage Accu Trigger is sweet and light, and the accuracy of their rifles is incredible. I shoot my customized Savage 10FP .308 with handloads at 500 meters, with 3.5 inch groups if I do my part, and it knocks down the steel rams like nobody's business. A Nikon Tactical 2.5-10X with illuminated mildots sits on top. You are going to be very successful-great pick for a hunting rifle!
