Thanked: 0I just wish I could read all the posts on this thing... For some reason, I can always read only on page... Anyway, who won this thing? Is is a member? I saw that 306 people visited the place... This is getting out of hands. Sure glad I don't bid anymore... Lol... But we never know... Claude

I don't enjoy the sniping thing. I don't buy any razors that are from a well known brand on E-bay simply because I KNOW some of the members on the forum (mostly the ones who don't post a lot) will snipe on another member. So instead I bid on a TI that I found in the obscurity of France from someone that wouldn't even take paypal or a money transfer. I ended up getting it for 2 euro's....now THAT is a good ebay deal. (Although it might need some work when it arrives.)

I guess I'll just wait for Bills postings of new razors every month or so I like that I know what I am getting and that I can trust him.

After some thinking I realized that snipping actually makes e-bay more fair. You put the max bid you are willing to pay (as all the other snippers do) and at the last few seconds you find out who's was bigger (no punn intended). No chance for anyone to adjust their bids after they see yours.
Real auctions don't stop on a dime but go on until there are no more bids. Snipping is an economically efficient solution to the artificial auction end time on e-bay. Like all other human systems this one too is evolving in an economically efficient fashion.

Bill is a great option, however remember when you snipe you have time to think what is this worth to me and not get caught up in a bidding war. Last week I was looking on ebay trying to get my 12year old son an ipod mini for a reasonable price. I saw two newbies get into a bidding war over a ipod nano. The final bid was $404. They could have bought it in radio shack new for $195.
