AOS - barbershop shave
I found that AOS has outlets that have an "old" style barbershop in the shop itself (on the side usually) where you can get a master barber to shave you (for a price of course).
Has anyone tried getting a shave there? My wife and I stumbled on of of these AOS outlets near us and I started chatting with the sales person who later introduced me to the master barber there. Nice, young chap.
The prices were (if memory serves):
Royal shave: ~$50 (prep, shave, post treat)
Regular shave: ~$36 (prep and shave)
I figured I am saving myself $50 every AM...imagine that. ~$1,500 per month ($18,000 per year) savings.
Nonetheless, I was curious to see what it would feel like to get someone else to shave me . I have not done it, but wondering if anyone has tried?
Maybe some of the barbers here can also chime in and let me (us) know what they think about this service and prices.
Thanks guys,

I know that the AOS store nearest to me (in Pentagon City, Arlington, VA) does not do barbershop, but the SA there told me the DC AOS store does offer shaves with a straight. I haven't looked too seriously into it because I can't imagine it's going to be any more enjoyable than shaving myself (even if they don't cut me)...

There have been posts about AOS. As I recall they use a disposable not a real straight. It's been a hot-cold thing so your really taking your chances. Personally, I wouldn't go to any barber for a shave unless someone I trust can really vouch for them.

Thanked: 84I got a shave out at the one in the galleria mall in dallas.
I loved it, super relaxing. I almost fell asleep in fact.
So I would say it is worth it every now and again to spoil yourself.
And yes they do use a shavette, but they have to by law for sanitary reason.

Thanked: 30I have tried the one in Vegas years ago. It is $50 for the shave, and they use a shavette(for sanitary reasons, and state laws) But here is the kicker, some of there master barbers use a mach 3 or fusion system. Of course they use the AOS handles for the mach 3 or fusion razors. LOL I don't think $50 for a shave with a mach 3 or fusion razor is worth it.

although it's not aos.. i've had my barber shave me in the past.. he uses a shavette and the lather comes from a latherking.. it only costs $18.. but i thoroughly enjoy the hot towel treatment and the shaves were bbs...
as far as aos goes.. i'm just not into their products.. and $50 seems way too much for my tastes.
