    Default 2 Sheffield ENG razors

During todays beautiful morning i went to a flea market and found 2 straights in very good condition. the first has what i think to be a natural whitish horn handle and reads "Joseph Elliot's Best Silver Steel Sheffield ENG"

the second has a dark colored horn handle and reads "Manufactured Frederick Reynold Sheffield"

I think both will end being great shavers, i think theyre both 7/8's (certainly larger than my dovo 6/8). If anyone knows anything about these razors id love to hear it (qaulity of the steel/the manufacturers etc).
    Regards

Both are awesome. I especially like the one with the black handle. NICE SCORE!

Seriously, very nice indeed, I can never find anything like that in flea markets around here, and thats only 10 miles from Sheffield, how bizzare is that

Thanks Terry! there is a reverse C, maltese cross then C above the rest of the writing.
The guy had a lot of knives and had each of these labeled as $12 a piece, i eyed them for a good couple of minutes and the gentleman approached me asked if i were interested in a deal on both, he asked what price he had written on them, i replied 12 each, he then said he'd sell them both to me for $12 total!! I replied yes id take them pretty quick!

I just as well give you this link, a lot of good information
    here.

The razor gods were definately smiling on you. I'm
going to have to start scoping out flea markets
    and antique stores.

Until today i had only seen 3 other straight razors at this flea market ive been going to of late, all of those were in bad shape but ive been finding a lot of great deals on DE razors paying between 1-9 dollars each (for razors selling on ebay between 10-65). I really recommend guys check out flea markets and antique stores around them, it's really much nicer than dealing with ebay (read very inflated prices) especially if you happen to have a semi nice one in your area like im lucky enough to.

http://www.fleamarketguide.com/ lists fleamarkets in each state, be warned that in some cases the list is outdated so a call ahead would probably be worth it if there's a listed number.

You made a fantastic score. Those razors are worth a lot more than the $12.00 initially offered. At $6.00 apiece, you robbed the poor guy, LOL!
