breaking the vicious cycle
so i understand we all love shaving and sometimes it seems like our facial hair just doesn't grow fast enough.. but lately it seems to me that i enjoy my shave more when i'm actually removing hair.. i get the bast shaves when i have a few days growth.. infact.. i wish i could wait 2 weeks and then really love my shave.. but i think we all know that isn't going to happen..
so i ask you guys.. do you get better shaves when you shave everyday.. or every other day?

my shaves generally have the same result as far as closeness and comfort goes, but i prefer to shave every other day so that i can see more of a difference.

Thanked: 983I usually shave every 2nd or 3rd day, but I started on an everyday shave, as the new born child was getting a facial rash from trying to suckle my cheek. This then brought about a slightly higher rate of ingrown hairs even though I do a 2/3 pass shave. To try to alleviate this I dragged out the little used electric razor, as it gives the worst shaves (Damn your lies Bond, James Bond!), but should allow enough stubble to poke through the skin. In theory. Now, after two days of using this mediaeval torture device, I have a nasty rash on the neck and ingrown hairs. Moral of the story...Don't have kids and you can shave yourself straight, whenever and however you please. Or have kids whose faces look like a babboons backside, either way is fine with me now.

only every second or third day for me. Too hard on the skin otherwise

I shave every 2nd or 3rd day as well, my facial hair doesn't grow fast enough to shave any more often. I did wait about 4 or 5 days last week, and that shave was probably my favorite so far. I'm really looking forward to no-shave-november now, shaving off a month's growth may be worth a month without shaving.

Victor,
My daily shave is such a deeply embedded part of my day that I don't know what I would do without it.
It is the beacon of calm and relaxation after a hard days work and all the crap that life throws at us
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

I love my daily shave! Its definately the part of the morning that sets me up for everything else that might come along that day.
Unfortunately I've been pretty busy at work recently, so I've been more reliant on my DE than my straights just due to time pressures. But that makes the Saturday morning shave all the more enjoyable! Hehe!

I get a great shave wether I shave daily or every few days, but the razor glides through the follicle a whole lot easier if the hair is a little longer. If you can stand the wait, every few days makes the shave more enjoyable due to the anticipation.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
