Thanked: 66For ne I have very sensitive skin so warm uber lather works for me and my bear hairs...that's a very creative idea though!
I'm sure those guys w/o my skin and hair type would like the idea..11-2pm is a good time for me too..why is that..kinda like my face hinting at me..lol

my options for showers and shaves are after the kids go to bed at 9pm or when they nap at 2pm.. i could get up god awfully early. but who wants to do that?.. we've had a bit of a heat wave in los angeles and i'm starting to love the cold shave.. i even rub an ice cube over my face after my initial rinse..

Oh yeah, there are a several guys that do this. I remember seeing a few of the guys from the polar bear shave club advocating the method for an even colder shave.
Floating my mug in a sink of cold tap water works pretty well for me, but if we get another heat wave in Portland like we did recently I might have to fashion a makeshift scuttle for ice water.

Real he-men rub dry ice on their face. Regular ice is for sissies.

Thanked: 335It's my understanding that after the dry ice rub the whiskers are brittle enough to be broken off just below skin level, thus obviating the need for both suds and blade.

Thanked: 1371One of the times I attempted the cold water shave I filled my scuttle with ice water. It definitely kept the lather cool.

I Have used my scuttle to keep lather cold in the past. It's a redneck style scuttle aus Walmart lawn dept. It's a double decker, with the top fitting into a larger bottom part. Ice water in the bottom. These days I face lather after prepping with an Ice cube.
