Looking for Honing Mentor in Seattle Area.
Hello fellow members, I'm posting this thread in hopes of meeting other individuals in the Seattle area who share a common interest in all areas related to straight razor shaving. Though I have learned a tremendous amount from the various shave forums; and for that I am eternally grateful to all the mentors and moderators who have shared some 100+ years of shaving information for no other reason than to be helpful. So a big Thank You to you all. However, sometimes there is only so much that can be learned from reading threads, or at least the learning curve can be much slower than spending time with an individual one on one. If necessary, I would be willing to compensate this individual for their time via trade of shaving items or trading of other skills (especially scuba diving & tactical use of firearms, practical techniques for carrying and using firearms for the concealed carry user, pistol shooting fundamentals, engaging multiple targets, clearing malfunctions, shooting from concealment, pistol retention techniques, as well as the close quarter carbine fundamentals). This is in no way an advertisement, It is just the best way that I can think of in order to compensate someone for their time. In no way would I be willing trade cash unless you are someone who actively teaches honing classes. If you are interested in learning anything related to firearms the individual must have a valid concealed weapons permit and must not have any felonies or other legal restrictions that would prevent the legal purchase, possession, or training with firearms. If you're not sure about the laws pertaining to the possession and use of firearms in the state of Washington only feel free to contact me. The main area that I am hoping to receive guidance in is honing however I am also interested in just meeting other fellow straight razor shavers who live in the Seattle Area.
Thank You for taking the time to read this post and I hope I have not broken any rules regarding posting guidelines. Just for clarification, any of the contents in this post are solely the responsibility of the poster. Further more I have not consulted with nor discussed any aspect of its contents with the owners, staff, or any other individual legally affiliated with with the Straight Razor Place Forum website or its affiliate businesses. Yes, Yes, I know, but sadly it has come to that. We live in a society who's letigious nature has become so out of control it turns your insides. The notion of taking responsibily for one's own actions appears to be of a time long in the past; probably when people use to use straight razors (Maybe we can start a new forum). Nowadays when something happens, "who shall I sue" seems to be one of the first thoughts individuals have along with "who's fault is it, certainly not mine."
