Thanked: 324Another Ebayer I'd never do business with again.
Yutahey.
I made the mistake of assuming the description "some hone wear" meant "some hone wear" instead of "completely ruined by an idiot". I made the mistake of assuming a 6/8 razor would actually be a 6/8 instead of having been honed to less than 5/8. I made the mistake of assuming the razor's hone wear must be just a reflection because there's NO way a top-of-the-line Theirs-Issard worked back razor that still has the sticker on the handle could POSSIBLY have the kind of damage it did. It wasn't a reflection in the blade at all. The f*king moron who bought the razor from Classic Shaving actually DID hone it to a friggin nub.
Anyway, I mentioned how dissatisfied I was with the razor and that I'd be OK to return it for a partial refund $100 out of the $130. I thought keeping the $30.00 and having the chance to snooker someone else with the same razor was pretty fair, but nope....
So, if you see anything you want from this guy, you need to be VERY, VERY sure that there aren't going to be any unpleasant surprises when you receive it.
I understand he's got more razors to sell and based on the condition of this one and the "sorry about your luck, Pal" attitude after the sale...... I'd steer clear and go for something from someone that has a good track record. Apparently, he got a negative feedback from John Crowley, too, but I didn't see that until it was too late.

I believe it's Yutahey. Maybe we should establish our own seller rating system and make it a help file like our ebay names thing.

Thanked: 324I don't know that I'd go so far as to call the seller "evil", but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I recommended a good/bad/ugly forum a while back. Jagoffs like this seller are the reason why. I'm having a bad experience with a seller right now. Very poor communication, and when he does, it's abrupt and sarcastic. You can tell the ijjit has the IQ of an onion. I'm waiting to see what kind of condition the razor's in before posting his name. He claimed it took 7 days for his money order to arrive (which is almost impossible...the longest its ever taken for a standard letter to arrive anywhere I've sent it was 6 days to Canada). I won the auction on the 8th, and still haven't received it. The worst part is this guy's feedback. You oughta read how he responds when somebody says something negative, yet almost every complaint is a carbon copy of the others. We'll see... It was my mistake, though...I said in a post a while back I wouldn't do business with people like him, and may have even mentioned him by name. I forgot, and placed a bid, which I won with. I was stuck then.

I find that unless I use a sniping program I will bid on a razor I like before I remember to check the seller. Now that I use the program I have the time to check. Another plus for sniping..

I look at auctions well in advance before sniping. As for the rating forum, I also want to be able to point out the good sellers like Tony Holmes, so both the seller and my fellow SRP members benefit

Absolutely. I wanna reward the good sellers with more business, and warn folks about the bad ones, and put them out of business. That's why theres a "good", along with the bad/ugly, in the forum title. You're right about Tony Holmes, though. I havent' gotten my razor from him yet, but he's been very pleasant to deal with so far.Last edited by Joe Chandler; 04-21-2006 at 03:27 PM.
