Target has the Proraso brushes. Don't look in
the shaving stuff though, the Proraso are with
    some of the womens stuff.

Wal Mart has Burma Shave brushes and some Pharmacies
    have shavong brushes as well.

Proraso brushes are $12.99 and are quite large I do believe.
Burma Shave are around $5.00 and the others with are
    usually Surrey are about $6.00.

The things stink to high heaven the first buch of times that you use
them, but the scent will settler down with use.

Go to www.tweezerman.com and search for their Badger brush. Next to the description is a link to find a local retailer. you enter your zipcode and maybe it gives you an answer. if none are in your immediate area you can enter other, nearby zipcodes. I did this and found a pharmacy near work that had one in stock.

Really a nice economical brush that works and feels like a much better badger and usualy retails for around $10-13. I am in the process of becomeing a dealer for them so I can add them to my shave sets.

At first I ws not that impressed with them but after a few tries it really grew on me and I use it a few times a week with cremes. It does okay with hard soaps but even better with cremes.

If you have an Crabtree & Evelyn near you they have some very nice badger brushes too.

I agree with Tony. Crabtree & Evelyn have nice brushes, but don't expect to get a great deal. You will get a quality brush, though. They have one's with nice handles which are pleasing to the eye, if that matters.

i would highly recommend the $35 best badger brush from c&e. it works great with soaps and creams and it is a nice, small size.

I have always been a boar bristle fan, Burma Shave and Wm. Marvey but have added a few Badger brushes as well.

I have 3 of the C&E brushes the monster $79 Super Badger, the $35 Best Badger and the little white handle, $35 Pure Badger travel brush. Not every store carries the complete line. My local store only has the 2 travel brushes and the large Super. The C&E about an hour away carries them all.

The Twezerman does not work as well as either of the top 2 C&E brushes but only costs $10-13. Of the C&E travel brushes the white handle one has a larger handle and seemingly larger spread of hair. Both though are rather floppy and best suited for cremes unlike the larger ones.

I also have the Crabtree & Evelyn brush and it's a very nice brush. It works well with soap or cream. If you wait until they have a sale, you might be able to pick up the brush for quite a good price.

C&E has a 20% off sale a few times a year and then you can go for the really nice brush and not feel too guilty.

    Default RE: Target Badger Brush

BEWARE, I was in Target over the weekend on a trip to Buffalo and they had the whole Porassoo line including the brush, BUT, they also had a line up of shaving gear from Italy, NOT PORASSO. This brand, called Caldo, had a badger brush and razor set for about $40 and both brush and razor looks poorly made.

They had a badger brush and razor with stand along with several soaps, creams and aftershaves. I looked at the three boxed brush/razor sets and two of the three were damaged. In one box, the brush had fallen into three pieces. The brush knot with a silver metallic setting, the tube which made up the body of the brush, and an end cap which was of the same silver metal as the knot setting. The end cap had a large bolt which passed through the open tube of the body and screwed into the cap. One of the the brushes had come apart, the other two had come loose. The badger bristle looked like the lowest grade of "pure" I had ever seen. If thinking of a brush, pass this one over. The cheaper brushes at C&E are much better.

Target also had a line of skin care products called "sharps, barber brigade". Apparently they must think that "new/old" shavign is just the ticket, because the Sharps line displays a DE razor blade on the bottle, despite not being a shave product. All Sharps products were body scrubs and skin care products.

They also carried a new line of apothecary type goods similar to C.O Bigelow, but they were called J.R. Watkins.

All of this was in the spa section, which was miles away from the mens shaving section. It did face on of the main isles though, so it wasn't hidden away.

Crabtree & Evelyn are currently offering free shipping on orders over $25 bucks. Their Best Badger brush, made by Edwin Jagger, is $35 bucks, and it's a dandy. Now would be a good time to pick one up if you want to try a good badger brush.
