When I'm not traveling, I usually have plenty of time in the morning to have a nice leisurely shave, so I'll break out my str8s and strop the next one in my little rotation up.

I sure do prefer to have the time to do a properly prepared shave, so I may give the shaving at night trick a try.

Night shaving isn't for everyone. Hopefully it IS for you. There are a rare few who have beards so heavy and fast growing that they can shave with a str8 and 8 hours later need to shave again. The beauty of this is that it takes 8 hours for them to need the shave versus the usual 3 hours when they shave with a safety razor .

I'm blessed I guess. I can do a proper shave at the end of a nice steamy shower and go up to 20 hours before the need. This is why I usually wait several days when getting ready to hone and test a razor. So I have some good stubble to test it on.

I tend to shave at night if I will be in a hurry in the morning. Right now it really isn't an issue since I'm not working. However having a toddler at home makes relaxed and focused shaves somewhat rare during the day. I have contemplated taking my str8 with me to my Guard drills but I'm usually so tired by the time we release for the day all I want to do is eat and go to bed. I did just acquire a DE that we believe belonged to my great-grandfather. I will be trying it out soon. I may take it with me next month.
