1905 Book on Shaving
Hi All,
I found the following how-to straight shaving manual online. Enjoy.

Thanks.
I actually saw that some time ago, and even printed off a copy! I got yelled at for using up all the paper!
I haven't done much but browse it quickly, I should go through it again.
Good reading from a time when most who shaved, did so with a straight.

Thanked: 68Thanks Tim
That's a book that has been discussed a bit at SRP. The bits on cold water shaving seem to have helped along the idea of the Polar Bear Shavers Club.
Nice to see someone has found it via other means.
Enjoy the Str8 LifeDon't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!

Interestingly, the manual recommends a 4/8 blade for beginners. I don't know if I would recommend a 4/8. But, I do think we tend to fear the 4/8 blade too much. Or, stated differently, it seems like we often think that if it isn't a 5/8 or larger, then it's less than optimal.
