Default What do You Think About While Shaving

This is going to seem really odd. But while I am shaving with my str8, I kind of pretend in my mind that I am making a video of myself shaving, and trying to explain to somebody what I am doing and why I am doing it.

This helps me to understand each stroke, why I am making it, and what value it adds to the overall shave. If I start each stroke that way, I find myself selecting the angle, position and the motion much more consistently.

I think I am improving my shave each and every day incrementally by doing this.

    How about you?

I don't think about anything apart what the edge of my razor is doing. That's one of the big pluses for me. Time Stops. You Dig?

I usually think about hand placement to minimize the shakes...

Here are a few things I think about while shaving, in no particular order:

I wonder how much I could get for this razor
I thought I honed this last week
Why is the bathroom counter so deep
I need to fix the exhaust fan in here
Is my beard growing in the same direction as it did yesterday? yep
    Time for a new razor

Someone has said that men think about sex about 1-2 per minute. Might be true or not, but while shaving i think of nothing. Sort of a zen like experience that is.

I use to clear my mind and enjoy "Shave Time" (IE, you can talk to me, but bear in mind i am not listening, shave time) but now i am going to try making movies, too.

I concentrate on shaving and think of nothing else. If you loose focus while shaving that's where the trouble starts.

I just do what comes naturally and not over-think it. That's something that can only be achieved through experience, not something I would recommend to a newb. Sometimes over-thinking it can be more detrimental to a shave than under-thinking it.

I think of nothing at all except what is at hand. The few times my mind does wander I end up with a nick.
