How many Straight Razors do you Own?

Here's my list:

-Worcester, Mass. Razor. 5/8. Round point.
-Double Duck Goldedge. 5/8. Spike.
-Henckel Twinworks, full hollow. 5/8.
-Wade and Butcher "The Celebrated Extra hollow ground razor." 6/8
-Wade and Butcher, "Gentleman's Razor." French point. 6/8.
-De Pew's Razor, 1882 patent. Extended "monkey tail" tang.
-Baumann's Wedge. Spike point. 5/8.
-"Spike" wedge razor. Spike point. Jell-O green handle. 5/8.
-Genco "Gold Seal," circa 1900. Orange celluloid handle. 5/8.
-Clauss "Barber's Special," Fremont, USA, French Point, 5/8.
-Ford and Medley, Sheffield. (One of those razors that has what looks to be a temporary blade, but you actually can't remove it. Never used the thing, except for opening packages and stuff.)

-Disposable bladed straight. Takes 1/2 a DE blade.
-Bonsa, Adrian and Stock, Solingen. A corn knife lookin' thing.
-Obri, Bohler Stahl. 1/8. No idea what this is for.

I refurbished and honed most of mine, then re-sold them. The ones I have now are the foundation for my permanent collection.

I've got two 70 razor rollups mostly filled up, three boxes that hold around 40 razors each and they're mostly filled up... a couple of 10-razor rollups, a couple of other boxes with 20 or so in each, 3 or 4 mugs full of them - about a dozen and a half in the bathroom and 20 or so in the shop.

I might have gone a little overboard on this over time. I have no idea how many I've got except that it's probably somewhere between 250 and 500.

This is pretty good......I have probably close to 500. Need to hone up about 50 so that I can keep some in the gallery for the new folks. I think John West is the winner here with over 3000 razors. He has been collecting for over 30 years.

Joe we are curious as to what you kept in your personal collection.

Also as a note, I have purchased 4 razors from joe and i anxiously awaiting delivery.

Also I have about 30 razors that are shave ready, but only about 30% are in my rotation. I also have about a dozen that need rescued and then there is the 4 that I am looking forward to from Joe.

an aside note: I think I prefer the vintage razors, but I will also continue to purchase select new razors.

I have about 30 razors mostly vintage but about 1/3 are new and everything is in my rotation.

5/8 Boker Red Injun 101 spike
6/8 Morley spike
5/8 Case spike ( Little Valley NY variety 1900-1912)
7/8 Wade and Butcher spike

And a 6/8 German made spike simply marked Supplee Hardware.
Got it for $8.00 at a junk store. No rust. Some black spots on
the blade but they cleaned up for the most part. Edge appears
good but not shave ready. Considering getting another paddle
strop from Tony with 3.0 and .25 grit to hone it up. Or I may
just get a Norton 4/8.

Gracious sakes.

I have one (1) $55 Dovo, but not because I think one is enough. I plan to get up to a rotation of 3-4 razors at some point, but the cost of our laundry just went up, and taxes were higher this year, along with our insurance premiums and deductables, and then there's The Boy, and...

So, one for now. :)

are we supposed to count the razors we got for practicing honing or just the ones that are shavable?

20. Geo. Wostenholm "Pipe Razor" 5/8, full hollow, near mint.
21. Wostenholm 6/8 full hollow smiley. Restored. More like a half hollow now...got that one from Lynn. Actually, got 4 on this list from Lynn, and one from Monsieur Ellis.

All the razors above have proven to be exceptional shavers, or have sentimental value (the Filarmonica) and most are in excellent/near mint/mint condition. I also have on the way a 7/8 Friodur (NOS) and a 7/8 Mella (NOS), a near perfect Depew, and some more eBay specials, some of which might find their way on here. I had a Dubl Duck, but decided to sell it, and two of my Wostenholms, which are on their way to you soon:D
