Go ahead and get the 4k/8k. I can get great shaves using it, and better shaves using Tony's strop to smooth it out afterwards. If you've already got one pasted strop, invest in the stone before getting another. Just one man's opinion.Quote:

Presently I have 209 razors. That's 2 silverware chests full and then some. 13 strops (pigskin, chamois, cowhide, horsehide shell, paddle and hanging, 14 barber hones (favorite is a Roxo), Norton 200 to 8k, Ice bear and Chinese finisher. 12 shaving brushes( prefer the Omega over badger). All the soaps lotions and potions. One bathroom dedicated to shaving. Got into straight razors by accident. Needed to cut specimens for my other hobby of vintage microscopes.Favorite razor is a Gotta.
