I shave whenever the mood strikes me, but I don't exactly have the most "normal" daily schedule.

Thanked: 240+1 to night shaving.... It's hard for me to find time in the morning plus I always shower in the evening anyway so it just works out better. Only on weekends will I ever shave in the morning and that's usually only on Sundays because Saturdays I'll often just let it grow.

It depends on my schedule if I know I will be pressed for time in the morning I will shave at night but I do love a Sunday morning shave after a long soak in the tub.

I will sometimes shave at night if I have a day that was not so good. I find it relaxes me and lets me unwind and forces me to take my mind off the crap that put me in a bad mood. Then I shave again 5 hours latter when I get up.

evening shaver also, but not always
I generally shave in the evening mainly due to time constraints and lack of attention while still half asleep.
My wife and I both like the smell of the lather or aftershave treatment. Kind of nice to have a great smell when going to bed. Kind of like when you can still smell your wife's perfume as you drift off.

If it works for you, I wouldn't try to get you to change your routine, but I'm curious. Wouldn't going to bed 30 to 60 minutes earlier and shaving in the morning still preserve your sleep time. When my boys were little, the older one complained one night that he was going to bed at the same time as his younger brother. He felt he should be able to stay up hald an hour later. I told him I'de make it up to him the next day. I'd wake him up half an hour earlier. He declined my offer.
