    Default Puma razors

I've seen Puma straights going for quite a bit, are they rare or just very good.

I've seen one for sale, crappy pic but the blade is described as a bit rusty but no nicks or other damage. Scales are good.

    Help please.

Rare or very good? By reputation...both. There's one guy on here (I wish I could remember the handle) who swears by them.

    Gary...

Puma is top notch stuff. This one seems to have only normal hone wear. It's hard to tell if the rust has caused significant damage. I'd take a chance, but remember, I have a lot of tools to work on something like that. If you could pick it up for less than $30, do it.

I think Puma's over all are some of the best shavers out there. They are easy to hone, hold an edge and produce a close smooth shave. I really like the older ones before the rubber tang grip the best. We have a member who swears by the Puma #89. Lynn

I have a dozen or so Pumas and they are all great shavers. They hold an edge well and are a pleasure to hone. Of course when I bought most of mine you could still get really nice ones for under $100.

Those other guys are yanking your chain. Pumas are horrible razors. Whenever you see one on Ebay - DO NOT BID ON IT!!!! I buy them on Ebay when I can as a public service just so they can be disposed of properly, but unfortunately, some poor fellow who doesn't know any better outbids me more often than not. That wopmanfixit dude just can't help himself, I guess. At least I try to save him from wasting all his money on Pumas and Dorkos.

I appreciate your efforts, But I've been beyond help for a long time.lol. When I see one of those near mint Pumas it's like seeing a beautiful woman, all my common sence goes out the window.
