Now which is the mug that contains the 5 years in constant use Williams "Soap of the Ages"?

    Hello, Bruce:

    Thanks for the kind words.

I am extremely organized, with the tenacity and discipline of a Spartan, on top of it. I guess years of writing and radio taught me that. Everything has its place — and I'm not very good at procrastination — and that's how I remain organized.

(By the way, no procrastination for me, as I noted. Let's go and get it done. People who dilly-dally drive me to almost want to shave with a Mach 3 — well, maybe not that far.)

I also have a big stash stored in a little cabinet in the closet just to the right of the counter. That includes Penhaligon's, more Castle Forbes, D.H. Harris, Trumper, Truefitt & Hill, several more brushes, DE Blades — I pull the stuff out as I run out of stuff on the counter. What fun.

Oh, the multi-soap mug is on the shelf, the second from the right, with a stack of different soaps on top of each other. That's my dumpster. The Williams soap is in the pile somewhere. The top tier in the mug is what little I have left of the Mitchell's Wool Fat — the thing just doesn't run out.

    Stay well.

    Regards,
    Obie

    Hello, Library Guy:

Thank you for the kind words. No, I no longer have cats. Years ago, when my wife and I lived in San Francisco, we had two cats. One was a calico named Bouboulina, after the character in Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis. The other one was a black cat named Francisco Goya, after the great Spanish painter. My, my, that was a long time ago.

    Stay well.

    Regards,
    Obie

I think these pictures would make excellent additions to the Shave Den thread:

Great shave den. As I'm just starting out on this journey, seeing your setup has jealousy setting in for me. Cograts on that collection. Dave

I loved the barber poles too! My wifes comment is that you have a lot more brushes than I do. Is there a BRAD? She thinks we are all crazy.

    Hello, Croaker:

Listen, only poor people are crazy, while the rich eccentric. We possess the sweet obsession.

By the way, dearly beloved often points to my brushes and wonders why I need so many. And to the soaps and the creams. And to the razors. I scratch my head and mumble something. She gives me a sheepish smile and shuffles away.

Dearly beloved understands my sweet obsession.

    Regards,
    Obie
