Shave # 4 : A razor from bill arrives.
Well I took everyones advice and got a razor from bill. It arrived today. And MAN does it pop some hairs. Night and day difference. I was able to get my upper lip baby smooth. Thanks bill, your check is on the way, I will be keeping this :P
I got the hair on my cheek pretty smooth, and my upper lip, is very smooth. Under my lower lip is also very smooth. Thanks to lynns video. I copied his technique and it worked perfectly. I am having more trouble on the left side of my face than the right, as I am right handed. I am trying to teach myself how to shave with both hands, because I dont want a deep and lasting remembrance like bill has :P.
The other trouble spots are along the jawline where it meets with the chin.
So the easy spots for me right now are.
Cheeks, upper lip, and under the lower lip.
Hard Spots:
Under the neck : The shave goes smooth, just doesnt seem to get the hairs cut as close as the rest of the face. I Tried n t s and side to side.
The Chin : This is the hardest for me
Anyway, I can definantly see the room for improvement with my technique now. I definantly like these heavier razors. I also got my 7/8 Discuswerfer 1000 today. I havent tried shaving with it yet. I will post some pictures of my new razors later tonight .
I did get a comporable shave today as a mach 3. Oh and the other good news, I had 5 days growth . And I didnt have to use another razor for backup. I did get a tiny nick on my upper lip, but its already gone. I have to shave east to west to get my lip smooth. Thank god for the round point.
Anyway... Thanks Bill
I was hooked before, now I am addicted and cant wait till my next shave.Last edited by gnomore; 05-12-2006 at 08:23 PM.

gnomore,
Those hard parts will definately get easier as
time goes on. Nothing like the feeling one gets
from shaving with a shave ready straight.

gnomore,
That's great to hear the shave went well with the Bill Ellis razor. Now that you've got a nice shave with a straight razor, the hook has been set deep. Before you know it, you'll have a dozen razors.

Hi gnomore,
You certainly can't go wrong getting a shaver from Bill. For someone new to straight razor shaving, getting a refurbished and expertly honed used shaver from a senior member is the way to go. Without a doubt, Bill is an exceptionally talented razormeister. I've also been absolutely amazed by the craftsmanship and ingenuity of several other members too. For instance, Vlad's recent restoration of an old W & B meat chopper is beyond brilliant!
