Hi,I have just came across a straight razor box (no razor) in 9+ condition. The black box commemorates the Lindbergh New York to Paris crossing in 1927.The leftside had LINDBERGH in large letterering,on the right an embossed likeness of the pilot with the words NEW-YORK PARIS 1927 over the top of his likeness,
KAPITAN LINDBERGH around the bottom.Any info,worth......?Last edited by thatgimliguy; 10-05-2010 at 12:54 AM.

I have placed an amount of money here on my table that I think it is worth. Do you think it is close?
I'm kidding of course... Any pictures? Sounds neat!
Here is how to do it if you you don't know yet.Last edited by Shoki; 10-05-2010 at 02:08 AM. Reason: Attachment on Attachments

I don't know anything specific about it however it's one of those boxes that contained a commemorative razor. You see all kinds of those floating around. Was it something special? You have to ask one of the pure collector types about that.

Thanked: 0Wow!! I just did a google search to find out some information about my great grandfathers razor that was recently given to me by my father and found this site and this posting!
The razors scales have the word "modoso" inlaid in gold/brass and the razor blade and tang have "Kapitan Lindbergh 1927" with the picture of Lindbergh (like on the box). The box that I have is identical except for the fact that it is so old and worn I couldn't make out the words and images until I saw your pictures of this box (plus it appears that some sort of cloth tape was used to hold it together at some point.
This razor belonged to my Great Grandfather who immigrated to Canada after the first world war. He used it for his daily shaves (for how many years I'm not sure) and the blade is still in great condition (and I now use it as well).
Are you interested in selling it by any chance?

Hi Kakoschris,
Just a quick FYI, this thread started over a year ago. More then likely the member who started this thread is not an active member seeing as he only has 2 posts (both of which are in this thread), so I doubt you'll get a reponse from him. And by the way, welcome to SRP.Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 0Hi ReardonSteel,
I noticed that too, it was a long shot. Thanks for the welcome though. I'm not sure if this is proper to ask in this thread, but would you know where else I'd be able to find an original box and or parts for the razor it belongs to?
Don't get me wrong, I love the razor in its present condition along with all its character it now has (and one day I'll pass it on to my child) but I'd sure love to have an extra box and scales just in case...
I'm still trying to navigate the razor database to try to find this make/model of razor...

I actually have the razor to that box. I bought it on ebay Germany about 4 weeks ago. It's currently sitting in my "to be restored" pile.

Could either of you please post a picture of the razor ?
kakoschris I don't think its likely you will get original replacement parts for this razor but there are some talented guys here some of them may be able to make new scales etc to exactly copy the original ones and totally restore your beloved razor to its former glory. Also if you click on thatgimliguy's logo you could send him an email about his box
