Hi All,

How do you insert pics into the text body, not as thumbnails ?.

Thanks

Gary,

This isn't difficult, but will take a few minutes to learn and understand. This is based on uploading to the forum User Gallery, and also assuming you are using a PC, not a Mac. I understand things are similar with a Mac, but I don't use one. Just do the following.

1. Click on User Gallery on the Home Page.
2. Scroll down to the bottom and click on User System
3. Click on Gallery Manager (looks like a 2 drawer file cabinet).
4. Click on New Gallery (looks like a file icon with a star)
5. Name your Gallery (for example, mine is "rtaylor61")

Now you have a gallery to store your pics. It's time to learn to insert them into a post. Just do the following.

1. Repeat the first two steps listed above.
2. Click on Media Manager
3. Select your gallery
4. Now you will see a dropdown box with your gallery listed. Just below the dropdown box are two options. Clilck on Upload File (the icon looks like the icon in step #4 above)
5. Click Browse to find the file on your computer, select the file. Also, fill in the Name and Description boxes.
6. Click Upload. Your file will be uploaded.

Now we are at a point I have issues with the forum software. And it may just be me and my ignorance! You need to go back and view your uploaded pic. So...

1. Click User Gallery
2. Select your gallery
3. Select the pic you want to insert, and click on it. This will open up the thumbnail into a full size file.
4. Once you are viewing the full size pic, right click the pic.
5. Click on Properties
6. Now you will see the "url" address of the pic. Highlight the address, right click and "Copy"

Now you are ready to proceed to your post!!!

Open up a box to post in (either New Thread or Reply)
Once you are ready to insert your pic, which can be done anywhere in the post, look at the top of the post box. You will see a small Yellow box with what appears to be mountains in it. It is the "Insert Image" button. Click on the Insert Image button, and you will see "[img]". Now, paste in the url of your pic. Then, click on the Insert Image button a second time, and you will see "/img]". So, for this example, here is what it should look like:
You'll notice that there are spaces in the link, at the beginning and at the end. I left those on purpose. Here is what happens when you remove the spaces:

Yeah, this looks SO complicated, but after doing it 3 or 4 times, it becomes second nature. If anyone has found a more simple way to upload to the forum gallery and insert the pics, please, post away!
BTW, this is a pic of my "Shave Den"!

Thanks Randy,

Really simple then I'll give it a go when I have a spare week.

Great pic btw, and I thought my bathroom was bad for space.

Cheers

It really looks tougher than it is. Thanks for the compliments on the shave den. What you don't see it the shelf of moisturizers, a/s balms, and the stash of creams and soaps!

What a helpful post. Maybe I could send you some notes so you could write some of my cd.

I'm glad you find it helpful. Certainly longer than I planned. We all have things we can share with others. My talent is certainly not in honing or restoring razors, but in other aspects of shaving. Anytime I can be of assistance...that's why I'm here. Oh, and to make smart remarks!
