I bought one of them too - the Filli's are really getting out of hand.

I wonder why they can get such a high price?

Because people will pay the high price. Price is all about demand. If someone wants something, no price is too high (as long as they think "I'll never see one this cheap again!")

I think the question is why are they in such high demand?

My guess would be because of hype. Why are old Sheffields in high demand? People think they are good razors (and, after shaving with a newly aquired one, I agree). People see that a few like them and go "oh, i'll try one too". It just keeps going until tons like them. Glen said he likes americans, and a few others agreed. It's only a matter of time until the old "junk" becomes the new hype item!

It's all relative. Everyone is after that elusive "perfect shave", and when someone claims to have gotten just that using a certain razor, everyone wants to get a piece of that pie.

Prices on Fillies has gotten out of control, but they are excellent shavers.

Wonder what is going to happen when the one eBay seller runs out of these things. Seems like she has a stranglehold on the market at the moment.

When she does, you'll start seeing eBayers claiming theirs originally came from her. Don't smirk. I'll bet money on it.

Those filles just never appealed to me...Im so glad

Since I tried a Puma and it was no better than any of my other vintage Solignens; and Wade and Butchers are not the best Sheffields out there IMHO, I concluded I could pass on Fillies.

I know which brand of Solingens I like the best and Im not about to say in case it inflates their prices.....I do however think Swedish steel could be the best out there..
